May 13, 2025 – SpaceComputer, a pioneering company building a tamper-proof orbital computing infrastructure, today announced the closing of its pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Primitive Ventures, with participation from Nascent, Tangent Ventures, Symbolic Capital, Public Works, Merkle Ventures, and Starshield. The company also received support from prominent angel investors, including Loi Luu, Sandeep Nailwal, and Meltem Demirors.
SpaceComputer is developing a decentralized “Orbital Root of Trust” by deploying secure computing nodes in space. This innovative approach leverages satellite infrastructure to create a robust and secure blockchain environment resistant to traditional cyberattacks and physical tampering. The platform integrates advanced cryptographic technologies, including zero-knowledge proofs (ZK), multi-party computation (MPC), and fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), to ensure the highest levels of security and resilience.
The company recently launched its first product, cTRNG (cosmic True Random Number Generator), which utilizes space entropy, such as cosmic flares, to achieve true random number generation. This technology provides a critical building block for secure cryptographic applications and decentralized applications (dApps).
"We are building cypherpunk crypto systems for the space frontier," said Daniel Exponent, co-founder of SpaceComputer. "By leveraging the unique advantages of space, we can create a more secure and resilient foundation for the future of blockchain technology."
SpaceComputer is advised by a team of leading experts in distributed systems, aerospace technology, and cybersecurity, including Dahlia Malkhi, Yonatan Winetraub, and Yan Michalevsky. Dahlia Malkhi is a professor at UC Santa Barbara and a distinguished scientist at Chainlink. Yonatan Winetraub is a specialist in aerospace technology, a founder of Aptos Orbital, and a researcher at Stanford University. Yan Michalevsky is the founder of Cryptosat, co-founder of Anjuna Security, and a co-founder of Aptos Orbital.
