Veda Raises $18M Led by CoinFund to Scale DeFi Vault Infrastructure for Institutions

June 23, 2025 – Veda, a leading decentralized finance (DeFi) infrastructure company, today announced it has successfully raised $18 million in a strategic funding round led by CoinFund. This significant investment will enable Veda to further expand its modular vault framework, which currently powers over $3.7 billion in total value locked (TVL) across various DeFi protocols and fintech platforms, simplifying crypto yield products for applications and institutions across multiple blockchains.

The funding round saw strong participation from a diverse group of prominent investors, including Coinbase Ventures, Animoca Ventures, GSR, Mantle EcoFund, BitGo, and Draper Dragon, among others. This robust backing underscores Veda’s pivotal role in bridging the gap between complex DeFi opportunities and accessible, enterprise-grade financial products.

"DeFi offers immense potential, but its complexity, fragmentation, and evolving risks have historically created significant barriers for both users and institutions," said a spokesperson for Veda. "Our mission at Veda is to abstract away these intricacies, providing a secure, scalable, and intuitive infrastructure that empowers any application or institution to seamlessly integrate and offer crypto yield products. This $18 million investment is a testament to our progress and will accelerate our efforts to become the 'DeFi Engine for Financial Apps'."

Veda's core offering is its modular vault framework, built on the BoringVault standard, which allows developers to create smart contracts that manage sophisticated yield strategies without exposing end-users to the underlying complexities of DeFi. This innovative approach supports a wide range of applications, including restaking tokens, yield-bearing stablecoins, and on-chain savings accounts.

Since its debut in March 2024, Veda has demonstrated consistent market leadership and rapid adoption. The platform has already processed deposits from over 100,000 users and is recognized as the largest vault provider and curator in DeFi. Notable integrations include products like ether.fi’s eBTC and weETHs, Plasma’s Vault, and pre-deposit campaigns for emerging ecosystems like Berachain and TAC. Additionally, major Web3 wallets such as Binance Wallet and Bybit Web3 are integrating Veda's infrastructure, further expanding its reach.

Key Differentiators of Veda's Infrastructure:

  • Enterprise-Grade Security: The BoringVault standard is widely used and battle-tested, with multiple completed audits and verifiable safeguards.
  • Configurable Compliance Controls: Offers features like address whitelists, deposit permissions, and curator roles to meet jurisdictional and internal compliance needs.
  • Protocol-, Asset-, and Chain-Agnostic: Works seamlessly across various blockchains (EVM, SVM, and even MoveVM) and integrates with diverse DeFi protocols, ensuring future-proof scalability.
  • Scalable, Risk-Adjusted Yield: Powers multiple on-chain strategies with significant deposits, enabling institutions to offer yield products with configurable risk parameters.
  • Non-Custodial and Composable: User funds remain in audited smart contracts, eliminating centralized custody, while Veda's vault shares are the first vault tokens to be onboarded as collateral on Aave’s main market.
  • White-Labeling Capabilities: Provides comprehensive tools, from smart contracts to SDKs and APIs, for launching bespoke, branded DeFi products.

The new capital will be instrumental in scaling Veda's platform, enhancing its institutional offerings, and continuing its strategic partnerships, including a planned collaboration with a top-five centralized crypto exchange. By abstracting away the complexities of cross-chain operations, yield optimization, and risk mitigation, Veda is significantly lowering the barriers to entry for on-chain finance for both consumer and institutional participants.
